The eyes are the part of our face that attracts the most attention. Every person we talk to watches them closely. He sees in them how we feel and react to his words. But our eyes also tell us if we are tired and approximately how old we are. The skin around the eyes is the most delicate on the body and is thus easily subject to ageing. In the area of the upper eyelids, the skin gradually sags, fat bags and wrinkles become more prominent. Plastic surgery of the upper eyelids helps to relieve these problems.

More about the procedure
Removal of excess skin and fat bags will provide overall relief to the eyes. Thanks to the surgery, you won't wake up every morning with swollen eyelids or be plagued by eye fatigue or watery eyes as often. Often, headaches will even subside. In addition, your eyes will look younger and fresher overall .
Combination with other treatments
You can have the surgery together with a lower eyelid lift or other procedures, such as a facelift (facial plastic surgery) - but always take the surgeon's recommendation. The great thing is that the healing time is not increased by having both upper and lower eyelid surgery together.
How the procedure works
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, so you won't feel any pain. At the same time, you can cooperate and communicate with the doctor during the procedure. The whole operation takes about 45 minutes. We will remove excess skin on your upper eyelids (usually 10 to 20 millimetres wide), as well as fatty bags under the circular eye muscle - these are often caused by swelling of the upper eyelids in particular.
The result of the operation is only a small and inconspicuous scar that is hidden in the natural eye fold. However, the "invisibility" of the scar is not only due to its location, but also to the suture - our plastic surgeons use a subcutaneous suture, the so-called intradermal suture.
Upper eyelid plastic surgery can

You often wonder
With the use of general anaesthesia, eyelid surgery can be performed, for example, together with a facelift, i.e. facial plastic surgery. The excellent result of the procedure and the effect of facial rejuvenation can then be enhanced by the subsequent application of botulinum toxin, which, among other things, serves as a solution to mimic wrinkles in the outer corners of the eyes. However, the procedure must always be approved by a doctor.
In the case of the lower eyelids, a very popular and effective method of laser surgery is the so-called lower transconjunctival blepharoplasty. For the upper eyelids, the only possible method is the classic scalpel blepharoplasty.
Yes, and clearly in a positive sense. After plastic eyelid surgery, the client's vision usually improves, the frequent watery eyes stop bothering him/her, he/she does not struggle so much with eye fatigue and often even headaches subside.
After the procedure, usually only minor bruising and small swellings appear, which usually subside within a week after the surgery.
You can use skin cosmetics and make-up in the operated area again after approximately 2 weeks after the procedure.
Yes, but you can numb the pain with over-the-counter analgesics and ice packs. We also advise against major physical exertion for the first week after surgery.
After plastic eyelid surgery performed using the conventional method (with a scalpel), you can go home immediately after the procedure. There you will follow a resting regime for about a week. If you choose a combination of conventional plastic surgery and the laser method, you will stay in the clinic for one day.
Yes, we perform a combination of upper eyelid surgery using the classic method and lower eyelid surgery using the CO2 laser quite often. However, the plastic surgeon will consult with you in advance and recommend the most suitable treatment method.
The shape of the eyelids changes as the skin gradually loses its elasticity. However, the fat sacs that press on the circular eye muscle also have a major influence. It is because of the overgrowth and loosening of these tissues that skin overhangs form on the upper eyelids.
We usually allow normal physical exercise after about two weeks. However, it is recommended to start sports activities one month after the surgery at the earliest.
You will return to our clinic 5 to 7 days after the surgery. We'll check to make sure everything is okay and remove the stitches.
