Who is the procedure suitable for?
Breast reduction is suitable for any woman who is unhappy with overdeveloped breasts, but especially those whose large breasts cause problems such as headaches, spinal pain, bra strap indentation, poor posture or skin eczema and infections under the breasts. The procedure will also bring relief to women whose breasts make social, work or intimate life difficult.

In the vast majority of cases, breast reduction is also associated with skin resurfacing. The operation consists of reducing the breast gland and modelling it, moving the breast areola a few centimetres higher and removing the excess skin. Reduction surgery can also address breast asymmetry if the asymmetry requires one breast to be reduced.
If the client plans to breastfeed in the future, she should inform the physician in advance so that he or she can select an appropriate technique that will allow breastfeeding after breast reduction. Women who gave birth more than a year ago and stopped breastfeeding 6 or more months ago may undergo the procedure .
Combination with "inner bra"
After a reduction mammoplasty , the breast may partially droop again due to its own weight. The procedure can therefore be supplemented with the "inner bra" technique, which ensures that the breasts retain their beautiful shape for many years after the operation. This original inner bra technique was developed by Petros Christodoulou, MD, in collaboration with colleagues, and is only performed at MEDICOM Clinic.

The first step is an initial consultation with a surgeon of your choice. At this appointment , you will tell the surgeon your ideas about the outcome of your breast reduction and together you will find the best way to achieve it. Any skin problems you may have will need to be treated before surgery
Surgery date and pre-operative examination
If you decide to have surgery at your initial consultation, you can agree on a date for the procedure and a comprehensive pre-operative examination, which is carried out directly at our clinic.
Details of the procedure
Breast reduction including breast modelling addresses not only breast volume, but also sagging breasts, asymmetry or modification of the areola. What all your procedure will involve depends on your requirements and the discussion with your doctor.
The doctor will inform you in advance about the shape of the scar
The aim of the modelling is to reduce the skin covering of the breasts, firming the gland and overall modelling of the breasts. There are several ways of performing the modelling, the method chosen depends on your specific situation. The doctor will always choose a procedure that leaves the least amount of visible scarring. Most often, the scar runs around the areola and perpendicularly down and into the bra crease. It takes the shape of an anchor.
Hospitalization
You will stay in the clinic for 1-2 days after the procedure. If you live in the same city as our clinic, we will provide you with a free ride home. Otherwise, please arrange for a ride in advance as you will not be able to drive after surgery.
Please observe the resting regime
After surgery, it is crucial to maintain a resting regimen to avoid complications such as blood clots. It is essential to follow a strict resting regime for the first week. Avoid working, driving, bending and lifting heavy objects; only careful walking is appropriate.
Return to normal activities
After surgery , wear a special elastic bra without underwire for 4-8 weeks. Depending on the type of work, you may return to work after 1-3 weeks. After 2 months, you can start playing sports again.
Three post-operative check-ups
The first check-up takes place one week after surgery, the second after 3 weeks and the last after 3 months. This is to make sure everything is OK with your breasts.

You often wonder
The operation is conditioned by the completed physical development of the potential client. From a physiological point of view, this requirement is often fulfilled by girls under 18 years of age, but for these girls, the written consent of their parents and, ultimately, the decision of the doctor are also necessary for the procedure to be performed.
You will be allowed to play active sports, exercise, work out or even do more cleaning in about 1-2 months after surgery. However, you should always wear a compression bra for major physical activity for 2-3 months after surgery.
Because it is a more demanding type of surgery in terms of plastic surgery, it is better and more comfortable for you to sleep through the whole operation. In fact, you will wake up in a heated bed in the clinic room - at that point, of course, with your cleavage still tucked in.
You don't have to worry. The breast reduction does not damage the mammary gland, so you will not lose the possibility of breastfeeding in the future.
