For whom abdominoplasty is not suitable
We do not perform the surgery on pregnant or breastfeeding women due to imbalanced hormonal levels. It must be at least one year since pregnancy and 6 months or more since the end of breastfeeding. We do not recommend taking bleeding-increasing drugs such as Acylpyrine, Anopyrine or drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid for about a week before the procedure. Before surgery, you should have a pre-operative examination - ECG and blood count. Both of these can be done at our clinic.

The first step is to meet with the plastic surgeon of your choice. You will tell him your idea of the result of the procedure and together you will find the best way to achieve it. It is possible that your doctor will recommend abdominoplasty as an alternative to tummy tuck.
Details of the procedure
You will discuss the details of the procedure with your doctor. It all depends on your wishes and what your doctor recommends. If the problem is primarily excess fat, liposuction is a better option. You have a choice of conventional, ultrasonic, laser or water liposuction - your doctor will explain their advantages and disadvantages. If you are also dealing with muscle separation and excess skin in the abdominal area, then abdominoplasty is more suitable. The two procedures can also be combined.
Procedure date and pre-operative examination
If you decide to have the procedure at the initial consultation, you and the surgeon can agree on the dates of the procedure and the comprehensive pre-operative examination, which takes place directly at our clinic.
Duration of the procedure
The length of the procedure depends on the details of the surgery that you and the surgeon have agreed upon. In the case of abdominoplasty, the procedure takes 2.5-3 hours.
You hide the scar under your underwear
After the procedure, you will be left with a scar on your abdomen in the lower abdomen that you hide under your underwear. A smaller scar will also appear around the belly button. Over time, however, the scars will fade and become less visible.
Overnight hospitalisation
After the procedure , you will stay with us in the clinic until the next day. If you live in the same city where our clinic is located, we will give you a free ride home after the procedure. Otherwise, please arrange transportation with your loved one. We do not recommend that you drive after the procedure.
Observe the rest period
For the first 2-4 weeks, observe a resting schedule and limit physical activity. Wear compression underwear for at least 4 weeks, which we will put on after the procedure. The underwear is washable and quick-drying.
Return to normal activities
You can start exercising slowly about a month after the procedure. The operated area will be swollen for the first few weeks, so the effect of the surgery may not be visible. However, the swelling will slowly start to go down after 2 weeks and within 2 months the result of the surgery should be completely visible.

To ensure the long-term effect of the procedure, it is important to maintain a stable weight through a healthy lifestyle.

In order to make the effect of the surgery as pronounced as possible and the resulting tummy slim, we usually recommend a diet before the surgery. By having the client lose weight before the procedure, we can remove any loose skin. If they were to radically reduce their weight after surgery, the overhang may become loose again. Make an appointment for a consultation where the doctor will examine you and discuss with you the most appropriate procedure.
The key is how the doctor assesses the state of skin elasticity and the amount of subcutaneous fat. He or she will suggest abdominoplasty if the skin on the abdomen is sagging or if its elasticity is so compromised that it will not be able to stretch back after fat loss.
Sometimes the cause of the bulging shape is loose musculature, despite minimal subcutaneous fat; in these cases, abdominoplasty is appropriate. A bulging abdomen is also often the result of visceral fat surrounding the internal organs. In this case, abdominal liposuction will not help and the surgeon will recommend a reduction diet.
The types of breast surgery (breast augmentation, reduction, modelling or combined breast surgery) and abdominal surgery (liposuction or abdominoplasty) are decisive. For example, it is possible to combine breast augmentation with liposuction of the abdomen. However, abdominoplasty is a relatively demanding procedure, so we recommend that you undergo each procedure separately.
